Blue Monday

I am suffering from after holiday blues this morning.  No amount of coffee can seem to get me moving, and nothing yet is fueling my motivation.   Looks like its "pajama" day for me today.

I've learned this about myself,  if noon rolls around and I'm still feeling those blahs, just give in.  Every day does not have to be "super productive".

Move over Echo, I'm coming back to bed!
When I have the Monday blues n blahs I find the best things to do are things like curling up on the couch with a good book, or snuggling with the dog and catching up on some daytime TV or even taking a nice little nap.

So that's my agenda for the day.  I'm off to make myself a nice cup of tea and catch up on some off line reading.  I have a new issue of ReadyMade magazine I've been dying to read, along with a book I borrowed and need to return soon, Carrots love Tomatoes.  It's all about companion planting in the garden.  And maybe, just maybe if the sun stays out, I may even wander out to the garden and sit amongst the beds and enjoy a ray or two.

Just so you don't think I'm a complete blob today, I did get a new bag posted in the FatBottomBags Store this morning.  In line with my blog, I'm calling this bag "Blue Monday" too!

What do you do when those blah's take over?  Do you pull yourself up by the old boot straps and get on with your routine or do you give in and take a break from your usual schedule?

  1. Hi you were above me on the SITS blog and I thought I drop by and say hello to another Christi!
I hope your day is picking up. I try and get outside when I am feeling blue.

  3. I usually just find something quick and small that I can make. Craft therapy usually works for me:)

  4. Blue Monday for me too, but my boss is on a well-deserved vacation this week, so I worked as productively as I could thru the blahs; at least, while I am working I cannot incessantly snack (one of my cures for any yucky situation LOL).

Here's to a "Terrific Tuesday" to all of us ;-)

  5. I'm an avid list maker, so if there are certain things I'm supposed to accomplish and I run face first into a blah day, I hit the to do list, figure out if there's anything mandatory, then push the rest to Tuesday.. or Friday.

There's very little that Must Be Done Now. For me, it's just a matter of having a broad scope and knowing where I can cut corners, so to speak.

Then I stay in my PJs, read, nap and daydream. I seem to use a lot of time up with daydreaming and brainstorming.

  6. Agh, been feeling the same blues these last couple of days, and what you say is so true - not every day has to be a "productive" one. Sometimes it's just as productive, for your own peace of mind, to just take a 'me' day. Great topic, by the way! :) I find time w/ my animals helps immensely. Every one of the zoo gets attention every day anyway, but on days like that, I spend extra quality time w/ everyone. Without fail I feel at least a little better afterward & they've never complained. :D Then if I can, I get my hands into some dirt - do some indoor gardening w/ my houseplants. I hope your 'me' day helped, Christi, and that those blues have passed. :)
